What is the difference between a vApp and a VM?


A Virtual Machine (VM) is server instance where the hardware seen by the server operating system is abstracted from the physical hardware by a hypervisor.

In vCloud, A vApp is a group of VMs that work together to perform a function. For example, you might group your web servers together, your management servers, DNS servers, etc...
